Mt. View
High School hosted a JV tournament on December 20th. Unlike Varsity
tournaments, the JV
tournaments focus on individuals, not team points.
The wrestlers are sorted by weight into small groups who
wrestle each other. This means that even though there may have been
8 or 9 schools participating, each wrestler only had 3 or 4 matches.

This
is a great learning experience for our JV team members, who get
to learn about real competition - here's Coach reviewing a match
with one of our wrestlers.

Wrestlers
get lots of advice from team mates and from spectators!

All
in all, it was a great day of wrestling. JV tournaments don't usually
award trophies or declare overall winners, but we certainly did
have our share of winning wrestlers.

There
were actually a lot more Sabino wins, but the photographer wasn't
always fast enough to catch them!
