The Cienega JV tournament was held on January 3rd, right before school started up again. Coming off an intense winter break practice schedule, our team had a strong showing. There were about a dozen schools competing in this event, with almost 200 wrestlers. Like the recent Mt. View tournament, the JV tournaments focus on individuals, not team points. The wrestlers are sorted by weight into brackets of 4 wrestlers. This means that even though there may have been 12 schools participating, each wrestler only had 3 matches.
Many of our JV wrestlers won their matches, and several won their brackets.
